The area needed reconstruction at a very fast pace and as the reconstruction was being done much slower than expected, UNESCO intervened and declared the region to be in danger. The ruins of the city are very important form more than one points of view. This is the reason that Azerbaijan government is trying to restore the ruins of the Walled city of Baku.
