Mount Kenya National Park is one of those sites which are included in the World heritage sites. As the name indicates, the park is located in Kenya. This region has a thick forest. It is located in Kenya and it is a natural place. It is important that we preserve such resources which are natural and are beneficial for the human life. This national park was actually established back in 1949. It protects the region which surrounds Mount Kenya. Mount Kenya is the second highest Africa. This mountain is a very beautiful and attractive mountain peak which gathers the attention of a lot of people. Many people visit this park each year. In 1997 the park was added to World Heritage site. There are lots and lots of trees in this park. It is a well maintained park. The region is naturally very green. There are lots of trees in this region. And same is the case with Mount Kenya National park. This region is one of the most beautiful regions in the world. It is one of the most attractive and beautiful place in the world. Many people from all parts of the world come and visit this region every year. In Kenya tourism is very well developed. Tourism is one very important industry of Kenya. This is some thing which helps the government in making lots and lots of money.

There are many reasons which favor the construction and management of a National park surrounding the Mount Kenya area. The first and the most important reason is that there is a lot which can attract tourists to this region. This attraction is very important. As the tourists are interested in the places which surround the Mount Kenya region, the park is paying well. The second main reason is that by converting the whole scenic place into a park it is now possible for the government to take care of this immensely beautiful place. There are many features which need protection. Vegetation and plant cover is one of those features. The biodiversity of this region also needs support. It must be protected by the people. Kenya has paid all due attention towards this park and as a result the biodiversity of the region has been preserved. The water catchment of the region is also important. This region is the catchment area of the surrounding region. This makes it important to the people of Kenya to protect this region and keep the tree cover intact.

The peak of Mount Kenya is snow covered. The surrounding region is full of trees and forest. The rich biodiversity and the preservation of a catchment area are additional benefits than the money generated through tourism. There are many animals which live in this region. You can find monkeys and Cape Buffaloes here. Elephants and some other large mammals are also there. There are few electrified fences to keep the elephants away from the populous areas. There are few very attractive lakes in this region as well.
